How many floor tiles do I need for my project?
The number of tiles required is based on the coverage dimensions. These indicate the area covered by each tile and correspond to the grid dimensions of a tile once laid.
The shipping dimensions describe the overall dimensions of an individual tile. For many tile types, these are slightly larger than the coverage dimensions.
Calculate the number of tiles required separately for the length and width rather than from the total area in square metres. For an area of 5.2 m × 4 m and tiles with coverage dimensions of 50 × 50 cm, this gives 11 rows and 8 columns, or 88 tiles in total.
Always use the coverage dimensions stated in the data sheet. Allow some additional tiles for edge cuts, wastage and future repairs. The layout planner on each product page in the online shop calculates the final number required, taking the laying pattern into account.
