The large-sized step protection mat prevents injuries, damage, splinters and noise if a horse kicks out with a hoof in a horsebox or playpen and hits the wall. The hoof dents for short the elastic step protection mat, the kinetic energy is joint-friendly dissipated and the dented area returns to the initial state.

The above-mentioned effect is caused by PU bound rubber granulate and the progressively damming mat profile. The step protection mats horsebox are durable, robust and carefree: pressure washing is sufficient.

The Step protection mat is pasted on the protected wall or on a base plate (plywood, galvanised sheet metal, etc.). The base plate can be removably mounted on the wall by means of hidden hooks. It is not possible to screw on the Step protection mat horsebox.

Anthracite

A car tyre is made of black dyed rubber (SBR). That's why the rubber granulate made of car tyres is also black. During processing with a colourless binder, black products are made. Similarly to the car tyres, the colour changes in these products after a short time from full black to a dark grey, also known as anthracite.

Material

The rubber granulate with irregularly formed particles is obtained from discarded tyres. It mainly consists in the high-valuable mix of natural rubber (NR) and synthetically manufactured Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR). The material properties of the WARCO preform largely correspond to those known from SBR. The granulate with an edge length from 1.0 to 3.0 mm creates fine-grained surfaces.

Assembly or connection system

Lateral Connecting Pins - Plastic Dowels

On two sides - between the individual rows of tiles - the tiles are connected with side connecting pins (plastic plugs). The installation must be staggered, i.e. the rows of tiles are staggered by half a tile and the edges of one tile are aligned with the centre of the tile below (T-joint). In this staggered pattern, each tile is connected to 2 tiles in the row above and 2 tiles in the row below by connecting pins. These pins prevent the tiles from moving sideways, but do not prevent them from drifting apart along the longitudinal axis of the plastic plugs. For this reason, the tiled surface must be enclosed by walls or recessed kerbs.

Structure of the underside

The underside of the slab features an inverted pyramid toe structure. These pyramid studs, approximately 15 mm high, are designed to enhance the weather resistance, dimensional stability and shock absorption properties of the slab, while facilitating efficient water drainage for outdoor use. The tiles can be installed on solid substrates (concrete, asphalt, interlocking paving, tiles, etc.), roofing membranes or plastic lawn grids. Installation guidelines must be followed.

The higher the indicated value, the harder the material and the lower the penetration of an object that puts a point-load on the material. Typical point-loads are high-heel shoes, table or chair legs, plant tubs on wheels, some kinds of pedestals for devices and appliances.

In individual cases, it can be tested on-site on a material sample if the chosen material has a compression strength sufficient for the desired application.
