In the elastic Double-T composite paving, an especially robust and tough rubber granulate mix has been applied. That's why the Double-T composite paving is particularly loadable and can be even used by a truck or other vehicle. However, it's very pleasant to the touch and provides a perfect structure-borne sound insulation, absorbs the rolling noise made by wheels or roller skates, as well as the clattering of the heels.

This is the reason why the Double-T composite paving made of rubber granulate is frequently used in the public space for example play streets, parking areas, driveways and paths in the housing areas and hotels, loading zones in the retail segment, as well as in the horse stall for the horse walkers, corridors and paths. Obviously, the Double-T composite paving is slip-resistant, water-permeable and frost-resistant. This product has been manufactured with an enhanced concentration. Thus, it's more resistant against abrasion and mechanical loading, but it's less elastic and open-pored and the damping is worse. It's recommended for surface with normal and enhanced loading.

Colour
Brick red

In the colour brick red, the black rubber granulate (SBR) from the car tyres is mixed with a binder, into that a brick red colour pigment (iron oxide) was mixed. The black car tyre rubber granules are coated with the brick red colour. Brick red is a colour hue that can be found for hundreds of years in construction materials for roofs, walls and floors. According to this viewing habit, brick red products can be mounted almost everywhere.

Material

The mix of rubber granulate (irregularly formed rubber grains) and buffing dust (fibrous rubber particles) is ideal to manufacture particularly dimensionally stable and abrasion-proof products with fine-structured surface. The material is obtained from car tyres and contains mainly a high-valuable mix of natural rubber (NR) and Styrene-Butadiene Rubber, short SBR. The material properties of the WARCO preform largely correspond to those known from SBR.

Assembly or connection system

The rubber bones are produced as Double-T paving in the BEHATON format and they are laid the same way as the well-known concrete paving. Due to the double connection, i.e. the double interlocking, the properly laid composite paving elements make a particularly positionally stable surface fixture, protected against canting and shifting. Half elements (divided longitudinally and transversely) as well as initial elements (one side without teeth) are available as accessories.

Structure of the underside

The paving stone made of rubber granulate has a homogenous cross section - exactly as the concrete paving stone. The top and bottom sides aren't profiled, without imprinted structure. It's laid on an appropriate, bound or unbound base course or on a plastic honeycomb grid. In the outdoor applications, the base course has to be opened for infiltration.
